| Working with Contractors - Monday, December 07, 2009 at 15:48 |
We have been hearing horror stories of construction projects turning bad, either the work wasn't done to the homeowners expectation or the homeowner was overcharged. In extreme cases the homeowner was actually sued for more money even after they had paid the contractor the agreed upon price even though the work wasn't finished. Unfortunately in this area justice sometimes isn't blind and rulings have been known to go against the second homer (the outsider) in favor of the contractor (the local guy who votes in the local election). While this is more the exception than the rule it happens with enough frequency that it would be prudent to protect yourself. We have prepared a short module in our "So Now You Tell Us" feature to help you wade through this process. Email us today for you own copy. |
